Use Your Auto Responder To Build Rapport And Make Sales

A permission-based e-mail marketing campaign is a great way to build a rapport with your prospective customers and keep your name and products in front of them. The best Internet home business tend to focus on building repeat customers from the names that are on their mailing list and they use their auto responder to send them e-mail content that is friendly,well-written and genuinely informative.

If you can learn how to write e-mail like that, you would have in your hands a skill that could make you a lot of money over the years. So let’s take a look at the elements of writing e-mail newsletters that sell.

First here’s a list of things you don’t want to do in your email message.

1. Don’t use stuffy corporate speak. It will send your subscribers screaming to the unsubscribe button.

2. Don’t try to impress the reader with how well established your company is. Frankly, nobody gives a damn.

3. Don’t give up the top of your e-mail to a disclaimer about how it isn’t spam because the reader opted in. Stick the disclaimer along with an opt out link at the bottom of the message.

4. Don’t hype up your message or use hard sell techniques. People hate being sold to.

5. Don’t SHOUT AT YOUR READER.

Part of the purpose of an e-mail campaign is to brand yourself in your niche market. So it makes sense to keep your e-mail conversational so that it sounds as if you are engaging your reader in a friendly one on one chat. In other words, write as you talk. Don’t try to adopt a polished style, because it just won’t work.

One way to get the personal note right is to give a snippet of news about yourself right up front, just as you would if you were chatting to a friend. You can either use it as a simple intro to the main subject,or you could use your little story to illustrate the point you want to make in the e-mail. Just don’t try and be too clever;your aim is not to prove how great you are,but to show your reader in a few words that you have a lot in common. People are far more likely to buy from people who they like.

Brevity is the key. So now you need to introduce your key message. Actually,in an e-mail,you can skip the introduction. Give them the meat straight away. Make sure that whatever it is will be of value to the reader. Do that by explaining clearly what the benefit is.

Conclude with a call to action. Just because you have included a link does not mean that the reader will automatically click it. So asks the reader to click the link to access the offer.

Finally, finish with your signature file (the P. S. beneath your signature). Use this space either to reiterate the offer you made in the body of the message,or to promote your website sales page.

A closing tip:Set up a separate email account and use it to subscribe to other people’s opt-in newsletters, especially those of successful Internet marketers. You will learn a lot from them, and any time you come across one that you think is especially effective, print it out and write it out by hand. That way you will learn a lot about email selling and writing effective email copy.
